Working for Social Justice
Churches in Shadwell are engaging in the CitySafe project through the work of the Contextual Theology Centre.
The sharing of a physical location - with all its potential and all its challenges - presents an obvious starting-point for engagement with neighbours of other faiths.
Christian social action begins from the conviction that humans are created in the image of a ’social God’ - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Christians are called to ensure our relationships here on earth share in the love and peace (shalom) of God the Holy Trinity.

The Contextual Theology Centre was founded to help Christians work for social justice in alliance with other faiths. It offers training courses, study days and downloadable resources.
Degree-level training on these issues is available on King’s College, London’s new MA in Theology, Politics & Faith Based Organisations and you can hear Course Director Luke Bretherton discussing these issues on St Paul’s Theological Institute’s Godpod here
